Early Childhood Education

Climbing the mountain to college starting in preschool.

We’ve always said, “college starts in kindergarten,” and now, with the launch of our brand new PreK, we’re getting a head start on our historic mantra.

Our amazing program for 4-year-olds ensures all children are on track to hit their developmental milestones in all aspects of learning – social-emotional, physical and academic.

There are six key components that support our efforts towards kinder readiness for all.

Family Partnerships

Everything we do is grounded in a partnership between school and home. Relationships with our families are a centerpiece to our model with parents and educators working together, hand in hand.

Low Student-Teacher Ratio

Every child receives personalized attention to support their unique growth and development in an 8:1 student to teacher ratio.

Whole Child Development

Combining play-based learning with targeted small group and 1:1 instruction, children acquire the knowledge and skills they need in all facets of learning – social-emotional, physical and academic.

Bilingualism as an Asset

For children with Spanish language skills, we work to enhance their native language skills while also developing their academic English.

Tuition-Free

Core programming is offered at no cost from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM for families who demonstrate financial need aligned with the state’s University Preschool Program (UPK). In addition, there is access to after care services until 5:00 PM.

Brand New Facilities

We offer a 1,000 sq. ft. classroom with all new furniture, technology and curricular materials along with a freshly constructed outdoor playscape that includes brand new play structures selected by founding families of the school.

By the time children turn five they have already experienced the greatest development period in their lives.

Rand Researchers,

Why you’ll love being a preschool teacher with us

We treat you like the professional you are!

Compensation

Too often in the preschool space, educators aren’t treated as professionals. At U Prep, Lead PreK teachers are on the same salary system as our K – 5 teachers. And, for those in Teacher Assistant roles, we pay above market ($ 24 – $ 26 an hour), recognizing that you too play a tremendous role in the success of our youngest learners. All full time staff have access to our benefits package, including 100% of personal health care costs.

Professional Development

All educators deserve to be invested in. Beyond dollars, that means providing personalized coaching and supports along with ongoing professional development as you learn new skills and strengthen your craft.

A Team Environment

Being a part of a mission-driven team with shared values and a shared commitment to the well being of children makes for a wonderful work environment. Everyone is in this effort, together, alongside of deeply committed parents who want nothing but the best for their children.
