Thelma Behnke

A native of El Salvador, Thelma Behnke currently holds the position of Director of Scholar Recruitment & Enrollment  at University Prep, but has served in a multitude of roles during her incredible 14+ year tenure. After completing her high school education in San Salvador, El Salvador, Thelma received a full ride scholarship to pursue a degree in business in the United States.  Thelma graduated Magna Cum Laude from Marian College in Wisconsin in 1995. After graduating from Marian College, Thelma joined Premark international, a Fortune 500 organization, as an International Business manager. Thelma earned an MBA while working at Premark International.

After 10 years in the corporate world, Thelma joined University Prep in February of 2011 as the organization’s first Office Manager. As a result of her experience as a college English as a Second Language (ESL) student, Thelma has a strong commitment to the community we serve and to University Prep’s mission of opportunity through education.
