Sofia Peralta-Amador

Sofia moved to Denver from Nebraska to join U Prep as the Director of Talent Acquisition in August 2022. She is a first-generation college student, representing the backgrounds of many of the children served by U Prep, and started her education journey by earning her Associates of Liberal Arts at Metropolitan Community College in 2016. She went on to graduate in 2018 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Spanish & Sociology. Most recently, she completed her Master’s of Science in Child, Youth, and Family Studies at University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2021.

Before joining U Prep, Sofia primarily worked in higher education leading recruiting and advising efforts. Currently, she is responsible for staffing all 3 of our campuses and spearheading recruitment efforts throughout each school year. Sofia is inspired to do this work as she has seen what the power of post-secondary education has done for her own life and knows the profound impact it has made for U Prep’s scholars. Some fun facts about Sofia are that she is the oldest of 8 siblings and was homeschooled for most of her childhood. Additionally, Sofia and her husband have recently bought a home in the Denver metro area and are expecting a baby girl this winter.
